The winter of our discontent?

I'm trying not to get miserable at the thought of the coming months. It's hard though. Liverpool is going under the tightest restrictions. I think in practical terms the only thing that will change for us is the leisure centre being closed, so bye bye gym, bye bye E's swimming lessons. We aren't eating out, aren't mixing with other households.. I don't know if their dance classes will go back online or if they're still happening in person. All the choir stuff is moving back online. Cubs and beavers too, which in a way I find harder because there are never enough hours in the week to do the stuff they send, not when the boys just want to play Lego or there's a pile of dishes to do otherwise they won't be having dinner or you're just so tired.. and the house is a mess, still, always. We're getting some windows replaced this week and I have no idea where to put all the junk. It's probably going to end up piled in the dining room or the garage.
Halloween and Remembrance Day and three birthdays will pass quietly, no family, no celebrations, just us four trying not to wind each other up. Christmas will be small and stifled. No carols. No laughing over mince pies and tea. No mad mass gathering on boxing day where the wine flows and the guitars come out and the kids go to bed far too late.
Trying to find some bright points to cling onto...
We will eat good food. We have each other. The house is warm enough.
And there's always next year.
