Better update
Well, here I am with a quiet moment and working internet and strangely little to say. Je n'aime pas les night shifts.

We had a meeting with some council bods, police and a rep from the insurance company last week. It started off alright but turned into a bit of a circus by the end, with everyone wanting answes to their individual problems and a lot of people asking how much they were going to get in cash advances as they had no access to their money or cards. It did sound very much like they wanted to know how much they could make out of it. There was very much an 'us and them' mentality there between the people in the squished block and us next door. I can understand that they are angry, frustrated, and probably a bit jealous that we will eventually get to go back in, but for us, it's the uncertainty of when we'll be told to move back. At least they know they're going to be out of the flat with no access to their stuff for maybe months, but the rest of us are just waiting to hear day by day when we will have to pack up and return. SuperMoo and I had planned a few days in london and nottingham and I'm a bit worried that we'll either have to take everything with us, or leave it there and risk not being able to get it back if we are moved out while we're away. I think we'll hang on til the middle of next week and see what the situation is. SuperMoo's railcard is in the flat too, and we've booked the tickets already. Poo.
