stuck in

hey folks

sooo millsland. well, last week i scrubbed in and helped to sew up this guy's belly, and today i poked someone with crohns disease. at the moment i should be learning about hernias or reading about lay preconceptions of aging, but darn it, i just can't be bothered right now. so after i've done in here i'm going to get some books then go home and make some nice starchy grazing nosh. mashed potatoes, mmmmm.

why is it that everyone else has to be there at 11 and goes home at 2 but we get stuck doing the 8-5 day? i mean, that's even longer than a work shift! well actually it was only me stayed til 5 today because i got volunteered to go to the ITU and the infectious diseases ward and then sat and held a lady's hand while tim tried to take some arterial blood, and didnt succeed. and then i went fencing. i seem to be improving - i won against susan today but didnt beat henry. he makes me laugh too much and i dont concentrate. or maybe i just dont expect to win against him so i dont bother. i thwacked him in the balls today though. that must have hurt :S

soooo yeah. still missing ian, still havent told him (apart from that one time he was drunk so it was ok).

ooh ooh! i went to see Cats last night with steve and WOW it was amazing!! we went for dinner first at a very nice mexican restaurant in queens square, then over to the empire and i was entranced... it was so fantastic to see it live, and the way they all came into the audience.. i was enraptured and i will have to go again when it comes around. actually dressed up for the occasion, and felt quite sophisticated :D

hmm. will have to go now to get books and go get food. my stomach is grumbling at me.

sorry it's been a bit of a pants entry. going home on friday! yay yay!
