housing and mousing

why are library mouses so crap?

and why has diaryland stopped doing paragraphs automatically? i have to put my own in now!

well, what's been happening at camp mills then? uni has started back again properly, with everyone else starting again this week. my housemates have exams and so have been shut up in their rooms revising since the weekend. our landlord rang to find out if we want to stay in the house next year, and it seems opinions are divided. i'd like to stay. i'm going to have to move anyway next year when the others graduate so i wanted a bit of constancy this time. plus, i'm going to be around for longer and i didnt want to be kicked out of the house in july if they want to up and move and i can't find some more housemates. oish wants to move somewhere with double glazing. lucy isnt really bothered. i have a feeling ruth will side with oish but she was a bit vague when i asked her the other day. the only thing is, ours is a nice house, for student accommodation. so we don't have double glazing - at least it's clean and everything works! the rooms are nice and big, it's well maintained and we look after it, so i can't see why she'd want to leave when we're not likely to find somewhere better that's not ridiculously expensive. hum.

i need to get some work done today. we started back at the royal so i was there from ten til about three, but half of that time we just spent waiting around for the house officer, who didnt even turn up in the end. i hate all the waiting that goes on in there. it would be so much better just to turn up, do something useful and go. in again tomorrow, but we have a plan this time.

i'm still having trouble finding my motivation. i managed to do most of what was set for monday but it was such a chore... hopefully i'll get some done today then some maybe before i go swimming tomorrow and then on thursday morning... yeah i'll manage it. not going anywhere tonight so after an episode of buffy and some food, it'll be busy beaver kirst.

i made a smashing dinner on friday night - kind of borrowed the idea from the meal i had before the end of term, but it turned out really well! i used the fresh pasta narnie had given me, with a cream, wine and mushroom sauce with garlic and artichoke hearts, sauteed mushrooms and flaked salmon that had been steamed in white wine. was rather impressed with myself :D

other stuff... meg seems down again. i always feel kind of bad when i read her diary to find this because i can never tell when i talk or IM to her. so then i feel a bit guilty for not noticing. i'm here if you want to talk, meg, sorry if i've been a bit of a crappy friend too.

ooh, must sort my CV soon as well...

well, should go and do work and stuff now. will update interfrastically...
