i've come on home for christmas!
hey peeps.
well, i'm home, hurrah! got back some point friday evening after we went to see grandpa at the hospital. he seems to be doing ok, which is good. my stuff is all over my bedroom floor, and the mess is not helped by having all the stuff from my brother's clear-out in there too. at night i kind of have to get into bed with the light on then lean over the end to switch it off, otherwise i'd trip over one thing or another...
boo my fingers are being retarded again.
yesterday i was savouring not having to drag myself out of bed to go to breakfast and consequently slept in til about half ten. (this morning i stayed in bed til almost one, but shhh.) later on we went to see the pantomime at the playhouse. it was good, but not as good as they have been. the dancing was no way near as vibrant as usual and they havent had any tap for the past two years.. the tap was one of the spectacles that would get all the kids trying to do it in the intervals and was the reason i started dancing. hmm. after the panto we took rawnie and my narnie home then went to pick joe up from nickis. i went to go and ring the bell so i've actually met her now. she seems like an alright kinda girl.
went to my mamma's today for sunday dinner, and me, bob and joe amused ourselves by drawing improvements on rawnie's sally army kids mag, lol... we changed the spot the difference so there were no differences, and the three wise men brought gangster baby jesus fags and booze. and gold. every gangster baby needs gold.
so this evening i've been haunting the net, pretty much, spoke to immy briefly, and rang em, kinda talking to ian but he's playing around with fairy lights and not saying much. so i doodled on a picture of tinkerbell that i snapped off the net. woo fun.
hmmm i have to go back to work tomorrow. i only have a few shifts this holiday so i'll have more time for family and friends and stuff but i wont be able to top up my bank balance as much as i hoped. ah well. and i'm not working for like 5 days over new year, so i can go and see ian again (mmmm ian) and then none at all in the last week of my holiday, so woo! plenty of time to see em and kate and do last minute revision and see people at school! i have four exams when i go back - two written papers on monday the 12th and two practicals on wednesday the 14th, then after that i'm free for about 4, maybe up to 6 days. i'm not sure how long the OSCEs run for, i think its until the 20th but i'm not sure. the SSMs start on the 26th jan so i don't know if we're supposed to use that time to start on our history of medicine projects or do prelim work for the SSM or what. i got my first choice, woohoo! 'Sports Injuries'. i think i may have won that one because i emailed the dude in charge of that module and asked whether i could do dance as a suitable ersearch topic, and he seemed to think that would make a good project, so yeah, i need to start sorting that out soon. i had quite a few good ideas for it - i could do acute injuries such as torn muscles and ligaments and stuff from not warming up or accidents or whatever, then long-term damage like after 20 years on pointe and what it does to your hips and things like that, then the psychological strains, having to conform to a particular body type and the pressure to keep thin and in training, and how much of your life is given up to this when very few dancers get to become prima ballerinas. so yeah, hopefully i can get enough out of that to fill a 3000 word report...
hmm my hands are still uncomfortable and tapping on this keyboard is probably not helping. i think i'll leave this here, so buh bye folks!
