back in blighty, arr jimlad!

hello everyone

well, in US time it would now be 2:15pm, meaning i have been up for about 32 hours, if you include the three i napped. wow, that's pretty good. but it does mean my brain is going a little fudgy and my stomach is grumbling at me for eating plane food. Virgin (which we flew with when i went with school) in-flight food was so much nicer than American Airlines, and their movie selection was better. i dont even remember the name of the one i watched this time. and on the small plane it was dirty dancing 2 on the big screen at the front. how rubbish?!

but anyway, i digress.

i had the most fun time in california - the only thing that would have made it even better would be if em and kate had come too. i already have hatchling plans for a trip in two years time, but we'll have to see how things go with that. you know what i love about the US? how their CDs are so much cheaper than at home. and how thay think english accents are cool, lol... also how they get teen girl squad! hurray! i wore my tshirt twice specially. but the sales tax is annoying and inconsistent, and the $10 boutique isnt really a $10 boutique! noooo, they sell for between $5 and $20 and is tres misleading! i had fun shopping tho. i really love hot topic, they need one here. i know that they have a website but its just awkward - if you get a size wrong or something it would take ages to return and replace.

so what did i do over there? well, i went to six flags magic mountain, wild rivers (where i got pretty sunburned), the irvine spectrum centre, lots of different eateries, 3rd street promenade in santa monica, spent three days in hollywood, got drunk at ashley's house and sang bad karaoke, went to the cinema, went to a fathers' day eat-all-you-want buffet brunch, went to the del mar fair in san diego, where i saw a camel get milked, a pig race, a swimming pig, had a bbq'd corn-on-the-cob and a monster cinnamon roll, then later we went to a drive-in movie (just like in grease! so kewl!), a couple more malls, i tried sushi, which wasnt too bad, and we went to denny's for a pancake breakfast. so a pretty fun trip.

i've got until friday morning now to get over the jet lag, so i'm going to leave this here, get a drink and then go to bed. hopefully being up all day will have worn me out enough to make me sleep til morning, so that will help.

hmm, the cookie is calling me...
