I want to wake up in the city that never sleeps

So, yesterday I rather unceremoniously turned 25. That moves me up one category in the consumer survey age groups, and puts me now squarely in the 'mid to late twenties' bunch. Next year there'll be no 'mid' about it! Why does my body insist on getting older when my mind isn't ready for it? I still feel like I did in the first couple of years at uni, yet here I am with a 'career' and a fiance! It feels unreal and I think I'm in denial. I still feel like I should be going home every holiday for a couple of weeks and big Life things won't be happening for aaaages. I don't like this involuntary growing up business.

Also feel a bit deflated now that our trip to New York is over. We were looking forward to it for so long and it was amazing! This time last week I was at home about to go to bed so we could get up at four am to go to Birmingham for our flight... We had St*rbucks at the airport and Emma bought posie tint. I cried a little bit on takeoff and then again when I was looking at Up over Mum's shoulder. Our limo driver had a fantastic NY accent. Traffic was loud. The view from the hotel was incredible. We went sightseeing and shopping and ate bagels and pastrami, saw The Lion King and walked around Times Square with no coats on. We got back to the hotel on the last day at the very last minute and the limo driver (not the same one as before) was really grumpy with us. I took over 300 photos and will stick the links up when they finish uploading. I don't want to unpack because then it will feel like it's really over.

I miss NYC

edit: and guess what? I didn't die in a big explodey fireball! Woohoo!
