not quite new years day.. but near enough

well, i did want to do one on new years day but half of that was spent asleep and the other half at emma and katie's being mesmerised by the Sims 2.

my new years eve was pretty laid back. like holly, i stayed in with dad (and bob, mum was upstairs continuing to be ill), drank red wine, watched the lord of the rings 3 extended version and went up to look at the fireworks from mum and dad's bedroom window. then spent way too long on the net before dragging my ass to bed. new years day was fun - i went over to emma and katies and had a proper go on the sims, which is fantastically addictive, ate better-then-cheese-on-toast and garlic mushrooms, snackajacks, cheese, a nectarine and cake. then stayed up until something ridiculous in the morning talking to em. i really miss talking to her while i'm away. there's absolutely no-one else in the world i can open my heart to like i do for her and not worry about what she'll think. however it did mean i had only about four hours sleep and consequently have eyes redder than satan right now, but it was worth it.

going back to uni soon... not sure how i feel about that. part of me is looking forward to it but another part is enjoying the doing nothing at home thing... i miss fencing though. and the aerobics class... wow, never thought i'd miss that! and my uni friends - mainly the fencers - even thought they're not the same as my home friends. i kind of feel like i've neglected my home friends a bit this holiday. i saw meg a couple of times and seen em and kate twice, dropped martyn a christmas card and met up with toni, but it feels like a lot of it was just whirlwind visits. especially meg, i think maybe i should have invited her over before now.. hmm, maybe i can squeeze in a visit before i go back, if she wants to. it does suck only having two weeks off though. even the schoolkids have a longer holiday than me :( boooo.

well, i should probably stop wasting time and go do something useful like packing...
