first hurdle leapt

hurray hurray, first day of exams are out the way and the brain workout has left me feeling slightly dizzy, but i may be able to remedy that with chocolate. i'm so indescribably glad that they're over - now all i have to do is brush up on my clinical skills for next monday and i'll be fine. not sure what i thought of today's exams. quite a bit was guesswork on the last paper. the clinical cases one went pretty well, except for the psychiatry question (damn my slacking off during that module!) so i feel ok about that; the first one (data handling, critical appraisal and ethics) was so-so... really should have read the book they referred to but meh, it was only one question, and beauchamp & childress is so boring... the last exam was... interesting. i hate true or false questions and if i passed that part, most of it will probably be down to chance. the rest of it was ok-ish.

found out my SSM allocations today - for SSM 4 i'm based in lancaster. not sure how i feel about that. the module looked really interesting, but i'll be away from liverpool for a whole month, probably back in uni acommodation, which is annoying since i should be enjoying my new room (and double bed! woo!) and i'll be away from fencing too, unless i join in with the lancaster lot. hopefully there won't be any BUSA matches til i'm done. gyargh! i'll miss ian moving in too! dammit... well, will just have to see how things turn out.

other stuff - i went up in the women's epee rankings: i'm now at 152 out of about 230. not sure how it will go next month because of the nationals, but i do have norfolk to hopefully bump me back up a bit. mario has gone up 98 places to 169 out of 500 and something, so well done to him :)

need to measure my new room and get some paints this week. i was so pleased when i checked my balance today - i'm out of minus money and back in the black, yay! either my payment for the tourguiding went through or mum was overly generous. will have to find out. anyway. i'm hungry and have stuff to do, so i'm going to leave this here and go home shortly.
